HANDS OF MERCY – HOSPITAL & PRISON OUTREACH CAMPAIGN
Extending Compassion, Restoring Hope, Transforming Lives Across Monrovia and Rural Liberia
The Hands of Mercy Campaign is a transformational humanitarian initiative dedicated to reaching two deeply vulnerable populations—patients in underserved hospitals and individuals living behind bars. Across Liberia, especially in Monrovia and remote rural counties, thousands of people silently endure neglect, emotional distress, and extreme material need.
This campaign exists to stand in that gap, bringing practical help, emotional healing, and spiritual encouragement to those who need it most.
Our Mission
To demonstrate the compassion of Christ by delivering essential support, restoring dignity, and renewing hope among hospital patients and incarcerated individuals in both urban and rural communities throughout Liberia.
HOSPITAL MINISTRY IMPACT AREAS
In many Liberian hospitals—especially community clinics outside Monrovia—patients are admitted with little more than the clothes they wear. Families often struggle to provide even the most basic necessities. The Hands of Mercy Campaign seeks to respond with love in action.
1. Essential Supplies Distribution
We provide a wide range of urgently needed items, including:
- Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels)
- Adult and baby diapers
- Wet wipes and sanitary materials
- Bottled water
- Basic food items and nutritional supplements
- Care packs for patients and caregivers
These items help ease the burden on families and bring comfort to patients during difficult moments.
2. Emotional & Spiritual Support
Our outreach teams visit wards to:
- Pray for patients and their families
- Offer words of hope and encouragement
- Counsel individuals facing emotional trauma
- Provide spiritual literature and uplifting messages
Many patients express that the comfort of a compassionate visitor is as powerful as the medicine they receive.
3. Supporting Vulnerable Patients
We focus special attention on:
- Abandoned infants
- Elderly patients
- Mothers with newborns
- Individuals facing extreme financial hardship
- Patients in overcrowded rural clinics lacking adequate supplies
Our goal is to ensure that no one feels forgotten.
4. Supplying Hospital Wards
In collaboration with local health facilities, we supply:
- Bedsheets and blankets
- Cleaning materials
- Basic medical consumables
- Items needed in pediatric and maternity wards
This assistance strengthens the capacity of low-income hospitals in rural communities to deliver quality care.
PRISON MINISTRY IMPACT AREAS
Prisons across Liberia—particularly in rural counties—face overwhelming challenges, including overcrowding, lack of sanitation, and limited access to counseling or reintegration support. The Hands of Mercy Campaign steps in to bring dignity and hope to inmates who often feel forgotten by the outside world.
1. Hygiene & Personal Care Kits
We supply critical hygiene essentials such as:
- Soap
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
- Sanitary items for female inmates
- Undergarments and clothing
- Rehabilitation-oriented care packages
These resources significantly improve inmates’ physical wellbeing and self-worth.
2. Spiritual Growth & Christian Literature
We provide Bibles, devotionals, and faith-building resources, helping inmates develop spiritually and find inner renewal.
3. Counseling & Restoration Programs
Through personal and group sessions, inmates receive:
- Emotional and psychological support
- Guidance on forgiveness, personal growth, and healing
- Prayer and Biblical counseling
Our goal is to foster transformation from the inside out.
4. Reintegration Support for Ex-Offenders
Many inmates struggle after release. To help them rebuild their lives, we offer:
- Guidance on reintegration into communities
- Encouragement and mentorship
- Supportive follow-up for those willing to start anew
5. Skills Development (Where Possible)
In collaboration with local institutions, we explore opportunities for inmates to learn:
- Basic vocational skills
- Leadership principles
- Entrepreneurship and goal-setting
These skills equip them for life beyond incarceration.
WHY THIS CAMPAIGN MATTERS
Jesus Christ reminds us to care for the sick and to remember those in prison. Through the Hands of Mercy Campaign, we bring:
- Dignity where shame has settled
- Hope where despair has taken root
- Love where rejection is common
- Compassion where suffering persists
Your support helps extend life-changing assistance into hospitals, prisons, and underserved communities throughout Monrovia and rural Liberia, impacting lives today and shaping brighter futures tomorrow.
